Neighborhood Leaders

Neighborhood Leaders are part of a program started by the GA Family Connection Partnership.  FC-CIS of Athens employs sixteen individuals to serve each of the sixteen elementary school attendance zones to help residents access resources and engage in community building.

What We Do.

Neighborhood Leaders aim to remove barriers to economic self-sufficiency by providing services and resources, including:

  • Education

  • Employment opportunities

  • Early care and learning, including quality child care

  • Support for the aging

  • SNAP and WIC

  • Physical and behavioral health services

  • Civic engagement, including census participation, voter registration, voting, and public processes engagement
