Remembering Mimi Brown-Griggs

Family Connection-Communities in Schools of Athens announces the death of Mimi Brown-Griggs.

We mourn this heartbreaking loss of our beloved colleague and friend and we honor her life and the light she brought to our work and community. Mimi’s compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication touched many of us deeply—both professionally and personally.

A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church, 1690 South Milledge Avenue, in Athens. We are so grateful to all in our community who showed up to honor Mimi’s life and legacy.

In Mimi’s remembrance, a 529 college savings plan has been established for her young son, Atlas Kanleigh Brown.
