Books For Keeps Community Book Fair is open to everyone! Every visitor can take 100 free books per day. Specific times for each day are:
Thursday & Friday (10/22-10/23): 2-6 p.m.
Saturday (10/24): 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Athens Access to Justice - Legal Pop-Up Clinic
Need legal help? Come out to the AAJT’s Legal Pop-Up Clinic. Their mission is to help Athens-Clarke and Oconee County residents get the best possible results, even without a lawyer. They focus on helping the Western Judicial Circuit navigate the civil court system by providing legal information and sponsoring legal events.
Free Your Feels: Teen Mental Health Summit
Free Your Feels, the 3rd annual Youth Mental Health Summit, is free and open to students ages 12-18. It is an opportunity for peer-to-peer interaction, access mental health resources, food, fun, yoga and more! Register today at bit.ly/ccsdfyf26.
Squarefest
Join us at the grand opening of College Square, downtown Athens on College Avenue. It will include a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m., family activities and fun from 1-4 p.m., and a live concert at 7 p.m.! We can’t wait to see you there!

Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens will have a table at this student-focused event offering entertainment, informational tables, and a costume contest.

Connect, explore and get hired at the Fall Career Fair, co-hosted by Athens Achieves, Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens, and Goodwill of North Georgia. Child Health and Literacy Festival
Educational and resource event focused on children birth to five, pregnant mothers, and their families. Event will be at the Early Learning Center West and no registration is needed. Contact Angie Moon de Avila for more details, moona@clarke.k12.ga.us. This event is accessible to English and Spanish speakers.
Grown Up Spelling Bee
Join Family Connection–Communities In Schools of Athens for the Grown Up Spelling Bee on September 11, 2026, an evening of competition, community connection, and plenty of laughs.
Watch teams from local businesses, community organizations, and groups of friends take the stage to put their spelling skills to the test in pursuit of bragging rights and championship glory. Along the way, teams will also compete to earn the Fan Favorite title through summer-long fundraising efforts that support our work.
More than just a spelling competition, this event helps connect students, families, and residents with the relationships and resources they need to thrive. We are grateful for community support and especially Presenting Sponsor, First American Bank & Trust!

Community Parent Listening Session
Hosted by Brightpaths and GEEARS, this is an opportunity to hear directly from parents in our community. We have invited legislators to attend and would love for you to share with your networks and invite parents to the table. We will have a facilitator leading the discussion in Spanish as well. Registration is required and dinner is provided.

Superheroes Summer Camp 2026!
Superheroes is a day camp for child survivors and witnesses of domestic violence. Camp runs each day from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. from July 27-July 31. We will discuss coping skills and emotions in the morning, and have an afternoon filled with fun activities.

Free Youth Violence Prevention Training
Submitted by Northeast Health District (DPH)
Free training on shared risk and protective factors for multiple forms of youth violence, strategies for violence prevention, holding hard conversations with youths, and self-care for professionals.
